ISCA is happy to announce that the World Health Organisation’s member states have adopted the Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018-2030 – More Active People for a Healthier World (GAPPA) at the 71st World Health Assembly on 24 May in Geneva, Switzerland, this evening.

An overwhelming majority of the 194 member states at the assembly endorsed the plan, which will be officially launched in Lisbon, Portugal, on 4 June. ISCA Secretary General Jacob Schouenborg will be in Lisbon for the event, which is being hosted by the WHO Director-General Dr Tedros in conjunction with the Prime Minister António Costa of Portugal and the Portuguese Ministry of Health.

ISCA and our members have contributed to the long-awaited Action Plan throughout the drafting process, and are supporting it through a social media campaign that will run until the official launch on 4 June.

Now it’s time for us to put the plan into action!
