UFOLEP and USEP seek input to shape next European Sports Convention initiatives
The first European Sports Convention took place in Strasbourg from 8 to 10 July 2015 at the initiative of the Ligue de l’enseignement, and its sports federations UFOLEP and USEP.
Over 200 participants from France and other European countries attended this event with the will to build citizen sports, as a medium for the development of territories, who had the opportunity to listen to both academic speakers and field practitioners.
Under the patronage of the French Ministry of City, Youth and Sports, with the support of the Council of Europe and the City of Strasbourg and in partnership with the University of Strasbourg this first edition paved the way to promising reflections and actions, as the interactive report which you can access today show (written reports, slide shows, audio tapes, photos and videos). [See ISCA President Mogens Kirkeby speak about ISCA’s long-standing association with UFOLEP/USEP].
New dates are set to continue the reflection until the second edition of the European Sports Convention, in July 2017 at Strasbourg.
In September 2016, in the framework of the « European Civic Forum », the place of sports in the European construction will be reflected upon in La Rochelle (France).
In November 2016, during the European Education Fair in Paris (France), a specific moment will be dedicated to the educative dimension of sports in Europe.
In 2016 and 2017, a range of different initiatives will contribute and help to develop the second edition of the European Sports Convention.
Further initiatives will be organised by our European partners in order to contribute together to the construction of this new sports culture, which will benefit to all.
- If you were part of the success of the first edition,
- If you are considering to share your experience, your questions and your expertise in the next steps that we will build together.
La Ligue de l’enseignement, UFOLEP and USEP thank you for your trust as well as your commitment and wish you a Happy New Year 2016 filled with daring projects and shared success.
