New President Elected at General Assembly in Malaysia

Former Secretary General, Mogens Kirkeby, Elected as ISCA President

Mogens Kirkeby takes over the President post in ISCA following the retirement of Anders Bülow who held the post for ten years. Mogens Kirkeby was nominated by DGI and elected without opposition during the annual General Assembly which took place on 25 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mogens Kirkeby has been the Secretary General of ISCA since 1998.

Regarding his election Mogens Kirkeby stated "Sport for All and popular culture plays an increasingly important role in our societies. Such an increasing importance leads to new challenges and demand for development of the organisations governing this sector. It is ISCA's goal to assist development for national Sport for All through international cooperation and partnerships. I am very much looking forward to be part of this development process as ISCA President."

The election of Mogens Kirkeby as full-time President follows the commitment of the Executive Committee to continue growing the quality and quantity of ISCA human resources representing the Sport for All movement worldwide.

Mogens Kirkeby (DGI, Denmark) was the only newly elected Executive Committee member. Elizabeth Paoliello (UNICAMP, Brazil) was re-elected Vice-President. Jean Claude Arnaud (USEP, France) and Oldrich Lomecky (SOKOL, Czech Republic) were re-elected as Executive Committee members. The Executive Committee also welcomed a new Latin American continental representative, Maria Luiza Souza Dias (SESC, Brazil).
