What are the unique features of your project?
We will develop a holistic methodology that can easily be adapted and implemented by different public authorities, and increase the level of awareness. It will support networking and exchange of relevant practices between the relevant actors in the field of healthy and active ageing, i.e., the sport sector and other civil society organizations, public authorities (regional and local) in order to strengthen the contribution of the sport sector to healthier lifestyles.
What are the main achievements of your project?
The Holistic Methodology created by us should reach the practicality and becomes a useful tool for all kind of organizations and entities involved in the promotion of Healthy Aging.
What is your personal recommendation or vision for European health-enhancing physical activity?
The need to improve the life quality of all sectors of regional population in Extremadura, especially those suffering from hypertension, obesity, metabolic or anxiety / depression and other diseases, has made necessary to strengthen the Sports Act in Extremadura, pointing two distinct objectives: the promotion and care of physical activity and sports, in the social sectors most in need, specially elderly population, and the promotion of physical activity and sport as an essential instrument for improving the quality of life and social welfare.
How will you make your project sustainable for future?
We are developing a real and practical tool for the future EU actions in this field of Sport by involving stakeholders in health sectors, sportive training sectors and overall policy sectors that allow to define new political programs. The Holistic Methodology should reach the practicality and becomes a useful tool for all kind of organizations and entities involved in the promotion of Healthy Aging.
