EYSF 2007
The voice of youth being heard
The European Youth and Sport Forum 2007 was successfully held 17-22.6 in Bonn, Germany. The Forum gathered together fifty young volunteers from 22 different countries to discuss and work on topics complimenting the German EU presidency: diversity, anti-discrimination and social inclusion through and in sports. The participants represented different national and international sport-, youth- and anti-discrimination organisations, bringing together a wide range of experience and ideas in the forum.
A concrete outcome of the EYSF is a declaration written by the participants of the forum. The declaration consists of ideas, actions and recommendations of the participants on developing the sport policies in Europe. It is a document reflecting the thoughts and beliefs of the European youngsters involved in sports. As well examples of good practise carried out by the participants in their home countries are included in the declaration.
On the final day of the forum the declaration was presented and handed over to representatives from European Commission, Council of Europe and leaders of international sport organizations. The organizers and participants of the forum will continue spreading the messages of the declaration on to ministries in their own countries as well as their national organizations.
European Youth and Sport forum was now organized for the fourth time. The previous forums have been held in Denmark, United Kingdom and Finland during their EU presidencies.
Also this years forum was organized by International Sport and Culture Association ISCA and ENGSO Youth, in close co-operation with host organization Deutsche Sportjugend and Deutsche Turnjugend.
