FIIC Intercrosse World Games 2009

The Fédération Internationale d’Inter-Crosse (FIIC) together with the Magyar Inter-Crosse Egyesület hereby invites you as a member of the FIIC to take part in the 21st edition of the FIIC Intercrosse World Games.

The organizing committee has a solid experience in organizing international events, having hosted the 2002 World Games, 2002 and 2006 World Cup, as well as several other international tournaments.

World Games is an FIIC sponsored event held annually in July-August since 1987.
The tournament is played with mixed teams (men and women play together).
World Games is not a tournament of traditional teams but rather a social tournament where the teams are composed of players from different countries. The teams are divided by a draw of lots at the opening ceremony of the tournament.
World Games aim to increase communication between intercrosse players world-wide and at the same time offer players a forum to learn about the game, both socially and technically.

World Games will be held in Szombathely, Hungary, July 7 to 12, 2009.
Szombathely is located in western Hungary, 250 km away from the capital, Budapest.
Arrival date is Tuesday, 7th of  July and departure on Sunday, the 12th of July.
Games will be played in Szombathely’s sport hall, which is the second largest indoor sports arena in Szombathely.
Accommodation in dormitory is at 5 minutes walking distance from the hall, in the center of the city.
Accomodation at Hotel Claudius**** (sauna, fitness room, wi-fi internet, breakfast buffet) is at 5 minutes walking distance from the hall.

The FIIC Intercrosse World Games is open for any player, male and female, aged 17 or older. Registrations are only accepted from official FIIC members or specially invited nations.

If you have an interest to organize or participate in inter-crosse-related workshops (possible topics: officiating, coaching, technics, tactics, playing rules, goalkeeping, etc.), please contact the FIIC before March 31st, 2009.
