SAD
The Swiss Academy for Development (SAD) is an important partner in the area of "Sport and Development". ISCA recognizes the special challenge and position of sport in the developing world and wishes to cooperate for more Sport for All opportunities in developing countries. The development of democratic voluntary clubs and organizations is of particular interest as this development can provide important and positive citizen participation in civil society.
The SAD works towards promoting sport as a tool to achieve development and peace. The SAD has played a vital role during the International Year of Sport and Physical Education 2005 as a promoter of this year, organizer of the 2nd Magglingen Conference on Sport and Development and has created and managed the International Platform on Sport and Development: www.sportanddev.org.
The SAD has provided staffing for the Swiss Working Group on Sport and Development that was created to fulfil the special project support mandate of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). ISCA has received significant financial support from this initiative for the Democratic Development Through Grass-root Sport project in South East Europe.
